Youtube as others noted isnt as evil as reddit or others, but peertube could be a good augmentation to youtube which stores loads of data. However Internet Archive stores alot of data as does Wikipedia don’t know how though. You could also pay per video, one cent per video no subscription just own what you buy. Or you could find way of compressing video data consumption files like is done with png and obsidian files. Or merge ads with content but with a marketplace anyone who wants to sale a product can post to specilized instants for sales and only those who want to buy would be subscribed to for profit instances.

ZenkorSoraz,

What if a species had eyes or nails made out of this stuff?

ZenkorSoraz,

So I wasn’t crazy when I began speculating to the sub that I mod Reddit would/could implement partners program(predictions I have made (charging mods to moderate), making subs that don’t generate ad revenue hard to run. Subs being turned into subscriptions and users also putting their content behind P***yWalls in an effort to warn them at least going nsfw has been well recieves and my Spez shelters are getting traction at last

Why bother inventing Australian whisky why that detail?

I’m guessing your employers needed to cover all the bases if supposed ex convicts from England didn’t have whisky it would be sus also it was fun to ibvent a totally new kind or whisky and brew a invented beverage for your writers who have a blast worldbuilding Australia beyond the massive pay.

Why did you all take the job of becoming actors in New Zealand and imagining 'Australia'?

So much staged performances Australian scientists who are really worldbuilders Prisons that have more paid actors who are playing criminals, hackers that mess with satalite maps, inventors who go in ships and when Nasa is in space project life-sized hologram of Australia into the atmosphere. As well as Writters that create fake...

Act? Isn’t that underselling it? You have actors who play actors who in movies could be playing actors? (Shitpost)

Except in my community no one joined the lemming and then when I polled them on participation in the strike they voted to reopen https://lemmy.ml/post/1328516 https://www.reddit.com/r/Threads1984/comments/14cw78l/rthreads_is_both_reopened_and_committed_to_the/

Trying to gradually Normalize Lemmy and convince them of the need to prepare For spezpocalypse and prepare Spez shelters that will ensure the survival of R/Threads1984 and which they can flee to when IPO begins to hit With Lemmy it is more then likely I will have to build the living community from scratch with the Lemming or Squabbles giving refuge to those seeking Spez shelters

My above examples show that Niche communities if they are created in Lemmy will likely be completely different in composition from Reddit it took months for R/Threads to gain 200+users for example would have been longer if the invite option wasn’t there more like 50-120. This is the reality when niche communities are created on Lemmy they are going to be totally different from the niche subreddits.(spent months treating it like a Threads archive before the subreddit gained popularity as a Threads discussion forum at 50 members and consistently growing even b4 I sent the invites)
