And then of course after posting about friendship stuff I proceed take a nap and have a dream where someone calls me out as a horrible friend who let them down 😔
I’m not sure these glasses work as well with my face, and the prescription is taking some time to adjust to, but I have 30 days to decide before I’m stuck with them. 🤷🏻♂️
Anyway, here’s #ScruffWatch Number 1 with the new glasses!
I’m looking forward to spending time with friends this weekend. I hope my social batteries are charged enough to manage successfully.
OH. MY. GOD. In iOS 17, voice messages in Messages keep playing if you leave the app or your phone sleeps. MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED! Thank you to whoever at Apple made this happen. 🙌
@ericleamen@toze I’m wondering if switching to voice messages with some of my friends might alleviate issues we’ve had with misunderstanding each others’ tone…
Something that has always bugged me about social media, but also just online communication in general going back to Usenet boards in the 90s: little misunderstandings that in face-to-face communication would be cleared up instantly and in the moment, with barley a ripple in the conversation, can blow up into friendship-ending conflicts as the time between the minor, usually unintentional communication and the responses expands. 😔
It’s demoralizing to have to buy bigger clothes. 😔
I’ve reached the point with my unwanted weight gain that I need to buy a new pair of jeans. Will this financial disincentive convince me to finally turn things around and get my physical health back on track? Doubtful.
It’s easier to keep eating sugar, drinking alcohol, and feeling crappy about myself than to do the things I know will help the situation (walk/run more, body-weight exercises, cutting the sugar and alcohol).
