I mostly lurked on Reddit, but #3 was pretty big for me. If I needed to ask a highly specific question and get an answer from a real human, there wasn't really any other option. Until now, hopefully.
Friendly Linux Players, or FLiP, is a gaming community I run. The last time I posted about this on Reddit, the reception was pretty negative, which I think may be because it was viewed as "too woke." I don't imagine will be a problem here on Beehaw, but hopefully this post falls within the intended spirit of the server....
Yeah thanks for sharing, this seems pretty cool. My daily driver is exclusively Linux, so I'm always happy to learn from others navigating the world of Linux gaming.
just so this doesn't overwhelm our front page too much, i think now's a good time to start consolidating discussions. existing threads will be kept up, but unless a big update comes let's try to keep what's happening in this thread instead of across 10....
The initial breaking of this story is what drove me to explore some Reddit alternatives, but this is worse than I realized. It's a bummer to see the enshittification principle on full display.
I messed around with Street Fighter back in the day, and I enjoyed MK 11 and Samurai Shodown more recently. I've never been into it enough to claim membership in the FGC, but it's certainly an interesting community.
I've been thinking about trying NixOS for a while. I think the concepts are elegant, and I have been finding Nix flakes to be very nice for software development. I'm about to get a new machine so I'm ready to take the plunge. Any advice before I dive in?...
Unfortunately I think it would be a distinction without a difference at this point. LIV/Saudi is buying into a combined org overseen by a single board. From what I've read, the PGA will have more seats, but the chair will be Saudi.
I have historically played a lot of 5E, but I've been looking to try out Pathfinder for quite a while now. I'm interested to see what happens with the remaster in November.

The other thread about favorite mechanics is great, so let's also do the opposite: what are some of your most hated mechanics?
