I had been on Reddit for 13 years. I’m really thrilled to see the fediverse develop and it seems like a positive and healthy change.
One problem I’ve had has just been registering, when I try with lemmy. I’ve been trying to get up and running in the fediverse since Tuesday. I have registered for accounts with several Lemmy instances (https://sh.itjust.works/, lemmy.srv.eco, and others). In every case I haven’t gotten a registration email. When I try to log in I get an error saying that my email is not verified. It’s frustrating because I’ve downloaded Liftoff and wefwef and Jeroba - but I can’t sign in to any account to participate.
I’m glad that my account registration worked for kbin. If anyone has experience registering with lemmy would be great to understand what I’m doing wrong or if it really is that these servers are so backed up that they are not sending out automated emails. Or can I use an email address to register with only one lenmy instance and never with any other?

I was looking at reddit today, and the front-page felt like nothing happened. I scrolled and scrolled and scrolled and clicked into comments. Everything is popping off buzzing with activity. All the subreddits I was subscribed to that went dark are now back up and business as usual....
There are so many apps in development for the fediverse. Once things stabilize it will be easier for new users to figure it out. In the meantime, I’m happy to be here.
Welp, I just deleted my 12 year old, 240k+ karma Reddit account
I was sort of holding on to hope, that something would change. Unfortunately, nothing did and so, here I am....
Well, it happened a bit earlier than I expected but I'm officially here now. Hello friends 👋
Reddit feels like it's gone back to 100% normalcy already. Was the protest a failure? (beehaw.org)
