no outfit options but when i let the player customize their height in hideous destructor hitbox size was one of the first balancing concerns i explicitly had in mind

Unreal Tournament had a "fatboy" mode where the player mesh would grow wider and wider as a player racked up a kill streak - it didn't really affect height much but it definitely made the player more visible after a while

there is (or used to be?) a skin of Daisy the bunny in Zandronum that's basically banned on a lot of servers because it makes you totally invisible behind clearly shoot-over-able ledges

@nus @quasar @winter to clarify: i'm actually pretty convinced that the total amount of violence per capita is more or less fixed above a certain minimum, and the real progress we've been seeing with the larger empires of recent millennia is that the bigger more complex infrastructures get much, much better at isolating that violence and pushing it away from the people in the core metropol who control the empire, and with them those who vote for or answer to them

from their (our) point of view, the progress looks very good because we are that well sheltered, along with all our families (and friends depending on how well sheltered you are from making friends with immigrants who were refugees from outside the metropol, and even then how much those friends really trust you to actually talk with you about their own trauma)

this means that the violence becomes more concentrated in areas outside this imperial core, and the distribution inherently more unjust thereby

it's not clear, however, if the total violence has been reduced or increased or unaffected or prevented from being affected by some other thing

ideally the violence should be
(a) reduced as much as possible
(b) distributed in a way such that people calling the shots always have skin in the game
