funnily enough, among desktop distros, i get more macos readers than from any other os. i was expecting linux users to be more than windows users but the higher-than-usual proportion of linux users is still unsurprising
@whitequark i did it over a link local connection no less.
basically it was on a pair of Linux machines, the command was something like nc -v addr port -p port where both ports are the same on both sides, and then you run it on both computers, and it opens up a tcp stream. The point of this was to perform a TCP hole punch on each of the devices firewalls to do file transfers without prior configuration. It was very finicky but I was able to do it several times.
