Update: I was very well-behaved. I just really wish I didn't have to deal with so much proprietary software in my day job. I already think proprietary software is ipso facto unethical, but it feels doubly-so in science. Like, this is humanity's shared future! It should belong to everyone! Putting it behind a paywall just doesn't sit right with me
The best part of working in computational chemistry is that I get to work with some truly impressive software at the cutting-edge of modern science. The worst part of working in computational chemistry is that most of that software is written in Fortran.
