I watch very little YT content. I before Friday, I had never heard about either of these people. I have never seen a react video either.

So, I watched this video. And a couple by jacksfilms. Maybe it is because I am nearing 40, but I don’t see the draw of watching a reaction video? Anyway. It is a little amazing that an internet feud has an entry on Wikipedia (here) and after watching the War on stolen content video I am surprised that the concept took off.

Are we talking full albums here or tracks and singles?

Beets, the MusicBrainz tagger can handle this.

plugins: lastgenre should load the plugin, but I think you’ve come that far.

In the config.yaml file you’ll also need to tell the plugin to get some tags.

I usually keep the count at 1…

If you are importing singletons you need to use the -s option, otherwise importing albums should work.

I know that likely didn’t answer the question, but somebody might find it helpful.

Ex Falso is an OK tagger for manually doing stuff.

2,500 isn’t much. I think many of us here could point you in the right direction for getting loads of high quality music. But, I am not super comfortable dropping names…the first thing listed on this site is a super easy way to get started github.com/Shakil-Shahadat/awesome-piracy#music-d…

Your next problem will be too much music, which is where I am at, but that isn’t a complaint or a flex. It happens when you’ve been hoarding since the '90s.

Tu peux commencer à voir avec elle comment quitter la France.

On l’a fait. Je suis canadien. Nous pouvons facilement aller là-bas. Mais… Je sais par expérience que la vie perso souffre et on doit travailler beaucoup pour peu (une fois les factures sont payées)… Quand j’étais étudiant, avant de venir en France, pendant 4 ans j’ai eu 4 emplois et j’ai travaillé 50 heures par semaine en plus de me 38 heures de cours (un de mes boulots était à domicile donc facile de faire pas mal d’heures si on se couche à 3h…). Après le prix des études, rentrer tard, laisser des pourboires partout, manger des fast-food, payer cher l’internet et le téléphone, prendre la bagnole pour aller chercher du lait… Nan, j’veux plus de ça ! On peux aller dans son pays d’origine à elle mais je ne trouverai pas de boulot là-bas et je ne supporterai pas le style de vie pour plusieurs raisons.

Voilà ce que je me dis. Je mange bien, j’ai mon CDI et mes tickets resto et 5 semaines de vacances, elle aussi. Mon fils apprend à lire et écrire et a accès au docteurs. Ça fait 17 ans que je vis sans voiture car je n’ai pas besoin d’en avoir en ville. Pour un millennial issue de famille plutôt pauvre je trouve que j’ai un peu réussi parce que je suis venu en France après mes études.

Maps and Misinformation

Sorry, not news or updates, but also not worth creating a thread.

I’ve been seeing lots of maps on Lemmy (mostly in French-speaking communities communities). A number of them look like this:

And then I’ve seen others that look like this (usually labelled as “fact” or “reality”):

With the exception of an amazing 3-day event that took place in my school (we had some history professors/researchers come in over 3 days and present us arguments from both sides, then moderate a debate…) I received no education about this, and even if I had it would have been about 20 years ago or more.

I suspect we have all seen a version of this map before. I can read the Wikipedia, and watch the documentaries, but where should I look to be able to come to a decision on my own regarding these maps? Meaning, is one of them more factual than the other?
