dontcarebear,

Hexbears propaganda radicalized anyone right of Stalin.

dontcarebear,

“Boss is too cheap to hire a security expert, and I have to do everything as a sysadmin. I was told to make a plan for a cyber attack. This is it.”

dontcarebear,

Whelp, you’re not wrong, but the Holocaust pretty much built the Zionist dream. It was either Israel or Uganda that would’ve been colonized. Israel had the easier agenda to sell.

dontcarebear,

Got that backwards there, friend.

If Israel stops fighting, it becomes Palestine. If Palestine stops fighting, both nations will remain.

dontcarebear,

That’s why there were so many peace talks so far.

dontcarebear,

Israel ethnically cleansed during 1948 independence war, and not everywhere.

If Israel was genocidal, Palestine wouldn’t be an issue.

I do agree that if the fanatic right wing leads the charge, Israel might lead a genocidal war. It just isn’t plausible due to the entire world shutting down all trade relations and starving it.

dontcarebear,

Religious fanatics aside,

1948 - war crimes were committed, on the territories of 1948 (Israel is bigger now). Hence the Palestinians call it the Nakba. They don’t mark other wars like this one.

1956 - Kadesh operation. No relocations, no actual conquests, only warfare that was stopped by French and English intervention.

1967 - conquest of the west bank, driving out Jordanian sovereignty and full conquest of Jerusalem. East Jerusalem is, to this day, filled with Palestinians who are not citizens of Israel and are treated in what can be called apartheid, but no mass murder and intentional war crimes like 1948.

Your comparison to China and Russia is simply wrong… the Israeli economy is a laughable bug compared to the superpower of China, and the well organized dictatorship that is Russia (where natural resources are aplenty).

America could break Israel with a trade embargo in 3 weeks. It doesn’t have to. The threat of it is enough. Whether or not Washington decides to do so is a different matter.

dontcarebear,

Regrettably, I agree with your argument.

Israel’s extreme and not-so-extreme right have been pushing settlement across the west bank and provoking, harming and terrorizing both the Israeli left/center and the IDF sent to guard them for years. They also murdered the Prime Minister that actually tried to consolidate the two states solution - Itzhak Rabin.

The blame of violence right now is very much a result of the right-winged government that is trying to turn Israel into a plutocratic republic at best, a theocratic nightmare a-la Iran at worst.

I sincerely hope that cool heads in the military will prevail, but with 1900 wounded, 300 civilians murdered and over a hundred kidnapped, Israel is currently reeling and it might end up with Gaza under martial law, and thousands dead and wounded on all sides.

It isn’t the same as Russia and the Ukraine though, and as explained above with Itzhak Rabin being assassinated, it isn’t that simple a proclamation regarding the 2 state solution.

It is the preferred outcome, and hopefully whatever horrors are inbound, it will lead there.

dontcarebear,

I stand corrected then. At least it wasn’t mass murder like the Armenians. I think most of the refugees fled to Jordan from the territories.

dontcarebear, (edited )

If you eat every time someone makes you mad and you work in IT, you’re not going to fit on that toilet before long.

dontcarebear,

Sometimes people just want to take a shit in peace.

dontcarebear,

If it blows hot air up your ass, you can call it Mr. President/Prime Minister.

Oh no, I did the thing too…

dontcarebear,

Or, at the very least, recognize the level of knowledge you have and partake in the discussion with humility, doubt and caution.

dontcarebear,

“Lae’zel, don’t you think you’re a bit too driven? … My sweat is what now?”

dontcarebear,

Philistines! Embrace the bidet and treat yout asses like royalty.

dontcarebear,

They’re used to what they know, and change - even for the better - seems wrong.

dontcarebear,

In my country it is 7.49$ and raised by only 1.77$ in the last 10 years.

It’s not just the US.

dontcarebear,

Quite frankly, when American self-criticism will die out - THAT’S when I l’ll start worrying. Criticism is a healthy sign of freedom of speech and pluralism.

dontcarebear,

Israel. We are more socialist than the US ( public healthcare, unemployment support etc.) But we are definitely Capitalist and our minimum wage can barely cover utilities, health and food. Not going to talk about housing, because that shit is just globally fucked.

dontcarebear,

That is just the classic “Communism failed and the proof is the USSR!” Turned on it’s head.

This more of a Hungary problem then a capitalism problem, although I’m sure it does it’s fair share of damage.

Should they go back to communism? Maybe. I’m sure liberals, socialists and communists would all agree that kicking Orban out is a good first step.

dontcarebear,

Ok, so it is not nostalgia, bad management, corruption, disillusionment “of how great capitalism is”… it is only that post Soviet nations had it better during the communist era and thus are better managed as Communist nations.

Whelp, I’ll just remain a skeptic.

I wish the post Soviet nations, completely unsarcastically, good luck in the next elections or revolution. I would be happy to see the communist ideology continue to thrive in the face of capitalist debt slavery, and the contemptuous bourgeoisie.

dontcarebear,

Idealistically? Yes. I wholeheartedly agree. Capitalism will always encourage unfair competition, whereas socialism will strive to end it by its very definition.

I’m just still unconvinced that the post Soviet nations, as a whole, suffer the same “communism withdrawal symptom”. The systematic pressures might be so that switching to Communism now will simply fail again (and let’s not forget the dear old CIA… eh?).

Again, hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see the point you’re making as clearly as you do. I think it is a more complicated situation, but I sure do think that being more socialist wouldn’t hurt them.

And I can’t repeat this enough, remove Orban the dictator from power.

dontcarebear,

I wish you people good luck in driving out that bastard, and the hard fixes necessary afterwards - regardless of which system it will follow.
