fibojoly,

Part of their best of double CD. I’m still amazed that only three guys can have such a consistently big sound. The breakdown at 3:30 in that song gets me every time, haha! Headbanging as I’m driving to work. Can’t believe only a few years back I had never heard of them!

fibojoly,

Will it make it to Steam at some point, I wonder?

fibojoly,

It’s great fodder for the “games are murder simulators” crowd?

fibojoly,

Probably means they didn’t take into account the fact that boys were just blasting people in online games whereas girls drowned themselves in social media? I reckon it’s nothing to do with actual gender and more about what those genders spend their time doing online.

fibojoly,

Oh fuck, good point :/

fibojoly,

It’s the middle of summer! Bears are not fatasses all year round!
Anyway. Some idiot will jump in there to prove it’s a dude in disguise soon enough and that’ll solve both problems in short order, I reckon.

fibojoly,

The guy I know who uses gasmasks everywhere does it because it’s a fetish.

fibojoly,

Almost like real engineers planned for such an event!

fibojoly,

There were some interesting results for sure! Although everything needs to be taken with so many grain of salt… Might as well just fall back on good old asking your partner.

Question about whether I should switch systems for Cyberpunk genre game?

I am currently in a group playing Cyberpunk: RED and, while I am enjoying the GM’s play style and plot, I feel like we’re not utilizing the system to its full extent. Particularly, we have dropped initiative, the XP system, and the very, very detailed way it handles “damage to body parts.” What might be a good system to...

fibojoly,

Even if you aren’t interested in OSR style gameplay (which sounds like you ain’t), I’m still gonna recommend Cities Without Number because it’s sure to be a dearth of fantastic tools for generating campaigns in a cyberpunk environment.

I’m not familiar enough with the Forged in the Dark stable of games, but given that Blades in the Dark is about thieves and their schemes, I would be extremely surprised if there isn’t a cyberpunk version, which seems like it would be right down your alley!

fibojoly,

So what does that mean for Skyblivion and Skywind?

fibojoly, (edited )

You don’t mind porn? Go and play the AVN Acting Lessons. It’s on Steam. It’s not too long but the punch it packs… it has this reputation of “the AVN you’ll never wanna play again”. I like to compare it to Requiem for a Dream.
If you want less heart-rending tears, I just finished chapter 3 of Being a Dik and there were tears, but the kinda good emotional kind. I’m the first surprised, but it seems to be a signature of the author and I quite like it.

Otherwise I’m playing Metro Exodus and man, that game is oozing with that uniquely Russian despair. No tears yet, but I’m preparing for some dark moments and the whole thing is just… wow. Mad Max had beautiful everything, but M:E has fantastic writing throughout. It all feels deeply personal and with that dreadful feeling of inevitability. And you only get to see/hear it if you want, mostly. Very glad I gave this game a second chance (it’s very… clunky. Again in that typical slavic way, I guess; but it works if you accept it as it is).

fibojoly,

You can’t call yourself X and then not go all dark, that makes perfect sense.
I’m just waiting for the Radio X-like slogans, for the full effect : “we’re the end of the alphabet people, that’s got to mean something, but we don’t know what”

fibojoly,

The repacker (they don’t crack anything!) that could teach a thing or two to those morons who send games with packages in the hundreds of gigabytes to users. Seriously good work.

fibojoly,

A bunch of AVNs imma purchase on the next Steam sale. Although I might buy them full price because I like what I’ve played so far and I think it’s vital to vote with one’s wallet, but also encourage independent developers. I’ve been buying a lot of independent games lately, instead of waiting for bigger titles to drop in price. Mostly because I’m tired of mediocrity in a shiny package.

fibojoly,

Best GTA-like I’ve played. Completely ignored the driving part and focused on the beat-em up part. I wish Yakuza was a fraction as good in the fighting department, because otherwise I feel like it would be a perfect fix for me.
So wish there was a sequel! T_T

fibojoly,

I’m guessing you’re saying that because of the pauses? Otherwise I don’t get it.

fibojoly,

Makes sense. I remember asking myself whether Morse was a form of Huffman encoding back when I was learning that stuff. And it kinda is going for that, but without actually doing it properly since it wasn’t a binary code per se and so could use the pauses. “Ternary” makes sense.

fibojoly,

Who needs to add Sleep calls when you can just do your shitty every day naive implementation and let your future colleagues fix your mess.

fibojoly,

With LEDs that turn different xolors, I reckon that would fun for all the family!

fibojoly,

I just realised this is a proto-poutine!
