I'm on another instance but it's making me rather uncomfortable that a lot of the traffic is happening on an instance that seems like it's 90 CCP members and Russian trolls.
This is happening on lemmy.ml I can cope with there being instances for tankies, what's bothering me is one of the main instances pretending their not so that they can push straight up recruitment shit at people who don't know.
Most Reddit posts referring to lemmy direct people to lemmy.ml it's effectively the landing page of the platform and if that landing page is being used to recruit people into a shitty authoritarian ideology then that taints the entire platform.
I use Linux exclusively for gaming. Sometimes there's a performance hit or weird bug, but mostly it runs very well, occasionally better than on Windows. I have quite often heard of windows players complaining about older games no longer running properly, and I've often had no problems with these on Linux, for example the original Dead Space.
However there are technologies which are still quite some ways off. Rtaytracing is improving but still a generation behind windows in terms of performance and support. HDR is barely supported anywhere. Variable refresh rate, is supported in some instances, but not universally, e.g. Gnome doesn't support it yet for Wayland. I don't know anything much about VR but would suspect it may not be very well supported yet either.
I just blocked two communities 196 and 195 from the feed, but when blocking the latter the block button on jerboa showed "block 196" again and selecting that didn't block 195. I'm the end I had to go into that community and block it from there.
No it definitely failed the block the 195 I was trying to block because after refreshing my feed the post I was clicking on to block it was still there.
2023 is shaping up to be one of the best years for gaming in ages. From Tears of the Kingdom to Diablo IV to Street Fighter 6, it's already been a pretty great year, with quite a few big-budget releases coming later this year...
Great list. And the first Talos principle was great (DLC less so). Also the ending had a great build up to the end, but the actual end cutscene was a little meh.
This is probably fair. Just watching people play it done if the details struck me a weirdly similar. Like starting in a location where a big enemy is riding around on horseback. Having large above and underground worlds.
Is lemmy.ml just a tankie recruitment zone? (lemmy.ml)
The shear amount of tankiness over on lemmy.ml is making me seriously consider leaving the platform.
The woke left! (lemmy.ml)
How big is gaming in linux?
Are there hardcore gamers there or is it mostly for coders?
gets confused blocking communities
