freddy,

This guy is so annoying. The articles are just slightly better than his YouTube videos. Liam is so grating and whiny

freddy,

Wew I touched a nerve for sharing my opinion about a whiny dude that complains when people don’t toot his horn or acknowledge when he’s “right”.

Y’all making the phoronix forums look mild lol

freddy, (edited )

Thx for proving my point :)

freddy,

I found that turning off VSync and setting the FPS limit to 30, along with capping the Steam Deck frame rate at 30 from the UI, gives me good results. I also turned off FSR 1.0, turned on fidelityFX sharpening, and slid the slider all the way to the right. My settings are mostly on low, except for texture quality, which I set to medium.

My FPS isn’t always a steady 30, but the game stays very playable, even when it drops to the low 20s. I’m not super picky about performance.

I kinda struggle to get about an hour and a half of gameplay on a full charge (my battery health is at 97%).

freddy,

I think it might depend on what model you have. I have a hl-l2395dw (monochrome laser printer) and cups has never failed me. I’ve had zero issues with it and wireless printing works fine, I use arch and mint and both work fine.

Maybe its the newer printers? I bought mine in 2019 or so

My anecdotal experience is based on using cups and not installing brother proprietary drivers

freddy,

It works offline for me on my steamdeck.

freddy,

I stopped using signal when they stopped supporting SMS.

freddy,

I forgot all about this. I had a silver one and I thought it was the coolest. The pictures were super tiny, but I didn’t care. I didn’t have a digital camera and smart phones weren’t a thing. Good memories

freddy,

Rip TechTV. I used to watch xplay and the screensavers after school every day. Those shows got me into tech. Leo laporte, Dan pantrick, Kevin rose, Yoshi.

Morgan Webb and Adam sessler put me on to a lot of games (back when you could rent them at blockbuster) that I never would have known about.

freddy,

I remember there was a button you could press to make the other person's chat window shake. It had voice chat too. MSN messenger was legit

freddy,

Ruroni kenshin was the best. Samurai champloo is legit too

freddy,

It was rough, but in 2003, it was the coolest thing ever. It def wouldn't be playable by modern standards

Attention, members of !2000snostalgia: I need posts from you!

Hello, subscribers: as you may or may not have noticed, the great content posted in this community so far has attracted over 80 subscribers, which is a very positive sign for the future of this sub. However, this is a community sub, and the time has come for you, the people, to consider submitting posts of your own! We will only...

freddy,

I'm new to Lemmy and idk how to send PMs. Let me know if my posts are too much and what kind of stuff is OK to post here. I love these kinds of communities -I'll stagger my posts a little so maybe more people can see it on new.

freddy,

That sounds reasonable. This community is a great idea, and it will likely inspire more people to share nostalgic posts from this period. It's like a time capsule, and I hope it gains traction for even more fascinating content. Rediscovering forgotten things from the past is cool, and it's amazing how nostalgia hits when I'm like, "Oh, I remember that!" Hard to believe the early 2000s were a quarter century ago.

freddy,

I used to play the og runescape at my schools library back in middle school. Blast from the past!
