I have a large library of steam games, but yet always come back to Garry mod and ravensfield. I keep coming back for the modded content and every other game is excellent, don’t get me wrong. But a lot of big games like RD2 and watchdogs 2 just seem like such a long time investment. What 2 games do you infinitely come back to?
Had some problems while trying to compile and install a WiFi driver for the first time. Managed to find the email of the driver’s creator and sent them a message. They responded a few hours later with incredibly helpful guidance, walking me through the process and enabling me to get it working, all while gaining valuable insights…
Edit: A couple times I’ve said eBook while I actually meant Audiobook. I’ve learned that Spotify has a 15 hour limit per month for their free ‘included in premium’ audiobooks. However these are the two books I listened to for free, and even rounding up to 13 hours it doesn’t make sense, unless they count accidental...
I’ve always just used konsole or gnome terminal. Never really looked into what else is available. Tried cool-retro-term the other day, but the novelty wore off pretty fast for me....
xfce4-terminal has always been my go-to terminal. It may not be the lightest or the best, but it does have some neat built-in features like opening a drop-down window…
I’ve had people tell me that they experience better performance running games on Linux through Proton compared to running them natively on Windows. A while back, I decided to try Windows for the first time since 2002 on actual hardware. With TF2, I encountered significantly more crashes & lag compared to running it on my Arch install…
See I only got lag & crashes on windows, when on my Arch install I had/have no problems whatsoever. I haven’t used windows since 2002 & don’t really plan on doing so any time soon, the install was just to quickly see what windows 10 was like compared to Linux…
A friend of a friend tried daily driving Ubuntu recently & had a few problems (some of which were gaming related). They eventually switched to Linux Mint and pretty much most of their problems seemed to disappear…
I’ve never used mint myself, but I’ve heard good things about it. Last time I used Ubuntu on actual hardware was around 2008 I think. For the most part I’ve been using either Arch, Debian or Fedora…
Mine is Strawberry since it has a ton of options and plays a ton of formats. It’s also (distant) fork of Amarok 1.4 and integrates well with KDE Plasma. I’m curious what other people are using these days. What’s your favorite player?
Welp, I made a similar thread yesterday regarding Manjaro but I decided to swap to Fedora as my daily driver for stability purposes. Unfortunately since fedora is yet another non Debian distro I need help finding a Syncterm replacement....
Not upgrading your system for like 6 months is a really bad practice that should not be recommended ever. If you don’t want to upgrade your system all that often, then why not install something like Debian instead of a rolling distro?
Long story short, I have a desktop with Fedora, lovely, fast, sleek and surprisingly reliable for a near rolling distro (it failed me only once back around Fedora 34 or something where it nuked Grub). Tried to install on a 2012 i7 MacBook Air… what a slog!!! Surprisingly Ubuntu runs very smooth on it. I have been bothering all...
You can only pick 2 games from steam to play for the rest of your life, what games are they? (sh.itjust.works)
