It definitely is. But thats not the point. The point is they cant claim the data and profit from it. The reason we are entering another information scarcity era is because companies paywall the content we created.

Third, the original point was that walled gardens are fought with the fediverse which you objected to the point that they cant sell it which is technically correct but misses the point.

Does it make more sense now?

I think plasma mobile is a desktop environment, not a distro. Sailfish is proprietary from what I read here. The other two are a little less usable if you dont have the exact phone they support according to this

Can you explain what exactly doesnt work for you: i have a laptop with nvidia graphics runnin pop-os without any problems. Maybe we view the experience differently.

The games I play (which might be different from yours) run perfectly, the DE (gnome) doesnt have glitches or crashes for me. I would really like to see what exactly you see as a glitch.

If an application dies and doesnt react because it has a bug, does that bother you? Because its the exact thing that happens on windows (not talking about the additional crap windows has on top).

Could bipolar people also be 'on the spectrum'? I had a natural birth (oxygen could have been cut off to my brain during birth?)

If you think you might be on the spectrum feel free to do some tests and/or contact a professional about it.

Its very hard to judge if you are on the spectrum from the circumstances of your birth. Also I didnt catch why it matters. There is no evidence afaik that natural birth/oxygen cut off heightens the likelyhood of being on the spectrum.

The answer is money. The AI craze lets every person not familiar with LLMs think that its some holy grail.

Also the fact that they have exclusive access to their customers chat data.

That why nobody can have exclusive access to our data except they pay us for it.

I disagree very strongly.

Owning any stock has nothing to do with your content being held hostage. When you and I made the posts on there (I have to assume) we made this for the benefit of everyone. We didnt know that LLMs would come to pass and gobble up our stuff but you can technically make your own LLM and gobble it up yourself. The only problem I have with this one and all other „reddit sells your data to…“ is that its not reddit‘s to sell (legal bla bla, I mean I never agreed to it being sold) and if its reddits to sell, its also mine to sell.

I know thats not how the corporate owned legal shitshow works but it is why I dont mind anyone scraping lemmy or mastodon. Everyone can do it which makes it worthless for one party. The control to access is what creates worth, which is why we need to abandon all proprietary media asap.

Now I‘d like to add that your idea is much better suited for the fediverse than reddit because nobody can control which LLM reads your data and therefore gives the „greater good for humanity“ to exactly that: humanity, instead of some corporation making money off of it.
