at home we want to remove ISP box for our own router
we don’t have ONT, just fibre with an SC connector
is getting a monomode SC to SFP connector a good idea, or we should rather find an ONT like device?
i have a computer i could be using as a router that has SFP sockets (prob be using a regular linux on), or should i get a router with SFP or copper uplink port? (if we go for ONT like device)
(asking the question before trying anything because the budget is a bit tight, can’t afford to try much solutions)

@hypha if you find anything where rust would have good support and was actually a good choice rather than an exercise in "can I get rust to run on this thing for a joke", lmk ... It's going to run on arm but I think it'll be full of unsafe and stupid overhead in the HAL
@hypha my experience w/ using rust for embedded stuff is limited but i would suggest it's maybe not a good idea unless ur already pretty familiar w/ both rust and "normal" C/assembly embedded programming
but also if ur enthusiastic enough u can prob get it working on anything that uses an arm processor that's on the list of tier 2 targets
