Going to an all day bass music festival tomorrow in Brixton (UK), Project 6.
Weather looks perfect for a day raving outdoors. Partly sunny, warm but not sweltering, and most importantly in the UK, not fucking raining for a change.
Going to see my favourite Drum and Bass producer/DJ again (Sully) and a whole host of Hip Hop, Grime, D&B and generally rib rattling acts.
Good times with my eldest, let's see if they can keep up with me this time.
“With its circle of warmth, the fireplace had once been the center of family life. It’s dancing light, smoky smells, and a warm crackling created an ambience that made a house more a home. And the traditions around the hearth stretched back through the ages, connecting each house to deep cultural roots. How might the solar house incorporate some of the richness of the hearth? What were the qualities of the hearth that made it so wonderful and beloved?” (1/2)
“Other than the hearth, perhaps the richest example of a thermal place with a profound role in its culture is the Islamic garden, the cool oasis that is the traditional center of the Islamic house. Together they might be regarded as two archetypes: the hearth, a refuge of dry warmth from a cold world, and the oasis, a preserve of coolness and moisture in a desert wilderness.”

Been trying to make more simple noodle dishes since my son is in a picky phase. These two are NY Times recipes and are VERY simple and easy to adjust. Plus they call for spinach which he (so far) will eat with the noodles. Will include screenshots of the recipes and my adjustments once I get a moment.
@nathanlovestrees if i remember correctly, @taalumot once posted a kid-friendly recipe for green eggs (i.e., puréed spinach in eggs. he’s a master dad, too.
