@DeltaWye yeah i have seen swapping and logs killing cards, but i have been using old recycled cards for years and for old random stuff they work fine, never seen one die because i run 98 on it

so i don't worry too much about it, and at this point it's all just old stuff i kinda expect it to randomly die at any moment hah

i think it's funny when someone puts modern hardware inside some old crusty laptop case or something like that, i mean sure i want the worst part of an old computer: crusty brittle plastics and old hinges

@Stinkie probably at this point that's the cheapest and better option, i have an at lunchbox pc and it 90% of the repairs were related to plastics, not really worth for modern stuff imo

i was searching info about this one and found this thing, looks like it would fit perfectly on this sbc.

i got mine from scrapping a parking attendance machine, it had two very damaged lcd screens and random stuff connected to the parallel port.

i got 3 boards in total and all of them had the keyboard port shorted, blown fuses and all, i just bypassed that lol

Fun issue, the hard disk was failing to be properly recognized, it just gave a hdd0 error, then looking the board closely I noticed this broken resistor network, only one was completely open, and I traced it to a random pin on the ide connector

I did the wrong thing, I jumped it with a wire, bad idea I know but whatever, it now works! Maybe I can find a similar value resistor and install it on top of the network

Oh and this is a mod I do to my SBCs that don't have it already, 5v on pin 20, it works great for disk on modules and the cf to ide adapters

All the socket 7 CPUs work, same with the Celerons, the P3 is the only dead cpu yet, and it's missing a pin, maybe it's related to that idk
