This was quite interesting, thanks for all of your responses! Most people here recommended Things, most on Twitter said Linear. Probably gonna try out the latter! 😊
Almost noone said Notion, which I expected would be the most common answer.

I used Things for a while for this, but ultimately stopped because I’m missing a few features (like attaching images or a Kanban view)
Still love Things for other... things!

What are you currently using for organising the next tasks you want to do for your apps?

I tried many, not super with any of them.

I need just multiple task lists, so that I can group my tasks by topic, and then a Kanban board to plan them out.

Currently doing this with Apple Reminders, with "Working" List that has multiple Columns (my Kanban board) and Smart lists based on tags (my grouped task lists.

And that is working quite well. But would be interested what you are using!

@mikaelacaron But there is no iOS app, right? 🥲

iOS & Folks!

Currently preparing for Global Accessibility Awareness Day by enhancing the VoiceControl support for Study Snacks by adding accessibilityInputLabels (thanks @twostraws for the nudge)

Do you have other ideas a11y enhancements?
Best would be some lesser known ones, as I have most of the basics covered already in the app!

@MuseumShuffle @twostraws Item chooser is a great tip, thanks! I read about it the first time when I saw your post and instantly forgot about it again.
Definitely gonna fix that in one screen (have 6 „show more“s there)

Just finished Psychonauts 2 from @doublefine and can’t stress enough how good it is!
It’s full of creativity, is one of the funniest games I’ve ever played and still manages to discuss mental health issues in a serious way. A true masterpiece!

Things like this tiny side story. Most people will probably never see it, but it made me laugh out loud.

@MuseumShuffle Also never finished the first one and it wasn’t a real requirement to understand stuff now. But I might go back to it now :)

@MuseumShuffle I would love to see a blend. Like I really not keen about the fonts used in iOS 6 or many of the icons, but I love how detailed so many things are.

Only problem I have with a blend is that I then need to step up my UI game or hire someone, because I am not capable of doing stuff that was done in iOS 6.

Which version would you like more - Left (new) or right (current)?

Or do you have any other ideas how to make that vocabulary list more focused and maybe a bit less boring?

(And yeah, font sizes are a mess)

Screenshot of Study Snacks, showing the "Colors Spanish" vocabulary list in the current style, where English and Spanish words are in two columns

Help me brainstorm:
Outside of vocabulary lists, what kind of list would be fun to learn in Study Snacks?

Things on my list are:

  • Countries & national dishes
  • Moons & planets
  • Inventors & inventions
  • Greek Gods & their domain
  • Movies & directors

What else?

klemensstrasser,
@klemensstrasser@mastodon.social avatar

@marcel Great idea! Which one specifically? I currently have in the app:

  • European Countries & Capitals
  • African Countries & Capitals
  • South American Countries & Capitals
  • Asian Countries & Capitals

Plus:

  • States & Capitals in Germany
  • Provinces & Capitals in Canada

But any further ideas along those lines would be great! :)

klemensstrasser,
@klemensstrasser@mastodon.social avatar

@uliwitness It’s not yet, but that’s a very interesting idea!

klemensstrasser,
@klemensstrasser@mastodon.social avatar

@marcel But that was still a good input, as it confirms that my decision to add it was a good one :D
And maybe there is even more to get (i.e largest cities by population in the EU or something like that)

It's hard to compete with more established learning apps when it comes to content. So I'm trying to force myself to release at least one new list to Study Snacks every week.

Didn't always work out in the past, but this week I've added two new ones in multiple languages! 🥳

I just overhauled the website of Study Snacks! It now highlights all features that were added in the last couple of months like assistive learning, better VoiceOver support or the Lexend font.
