Just left reddit because I got tired of moderation and I do not agree with political views over all. I never tried 4chan because I heard it’s messed up and supposedly inject maleware on visitors like porn sites do....
I don’t really like 4chan. I moved here from reddit when the whole API thing started because I did not like the way thri started treating their users (and even worst, how they treated their mods) and never looked back.
Sounds nice! I am also working on a usenet indexer right now, but I am not ready to make it public. Anyway, if you publish a docker container I would gladly give it a try.
I also have all notifications disabled, except the ones I really need (texts, calls, calendar, email and others like this). I don’t like that every time I look at my phone to have tens or hundreds of notifications that I am not interested in, I want to have only what I need to see.
ive just heard of an incident where students redirected their books codes to p**n. can i make sure that doesnt happen? also, im using google to generate them, is there a foss alternative as im scared of tracking. lastly, can i make the qr code redirect to a specific page of a pdf as i want people to be able to scan them and...
Sure there are foss qr code generators, I don’t know any at the moment but with a simple google search you should find what you want. About the pdf on a specific page, I think you can add #page={pageNumber} in the url and should open it at the given page.
I only use brave at work because it somehow bypasses the firewall there and I can install and use it. I run it to watch videos about cooking or traveling and reading news when I have nothing to do at my job....
I don’t know…I think I always had a passion for it. I always liked tech stuff and liked to play the computers. Built my first site at 13, after that another and another and so on…now I have 10 years of software engineering, worked with multiple technologies and frameworks along the way. Nowadays I work as a software architect at one of the largest companies in my country.
Well…there are a lot of things I don’t understand, but maybe I’m just weird in that way :)) I don’t understand why some people accept that what they know at this moment is enough and don’t try to learn new stuff and be better tomorrow than they are now. I don’t understand why some people choose to ignore creativity and event think that creative people are childish or even stupid. And also, I don’t understand why lots of people choose to be jackasses and act accordingly to others when it would be so easy do not do this.
What things do you refuse to pirate?
Which seas do you avoid?
New to Lemmy. Why did you choose Lemmy when there are bigger alternatives such as 4chan and reddit.

Do you disable notifications for all your apps?
let them all in or only allow for some specific apps (if so which ones)?
if i make static qr codes, no one can redirect them later right?
