I recently read a book about meditation practices and it mentioned a 3x3 gratefulness meditation, which made a lot of sense to me. You spend a couple of minutes each day finding three things you're thankful for in each of the categories: life, work, and self.

Anyway! I accidentally built an app prototype around this idea.

I'm not gonna lie, friends. This is just a tiny app that does one single thing very well.

I wasn't happy with the current state of habit tracker apps on the App Store and set out to get rid of all of the stuff nobody really needs while providing a great experience for what's actually important.

It's the digital version of a tally sheet. And tally sheets are what I found work best when you try to build a habit.

I don't think I want to keep the iPhone 15 Pro FineWoven case. It's... fine but absolutely not €70 fine. Feels more like a €20 product.

Any recommendations? I don't want it to have a strong visual opinion and it shouldn't feel "sticky" like Apple's silicone cases.

What don’t people like about Core Data? I’ve always heard how awful and painful it is to use. However, I’m now using it in my second project, and it’s… fine? A bit tricky to set up and wrap your head around at first, but after that everything works and is fast and flexible.

But there's a good chance that I just don't do things with it that are complex enough to warrant the animosity.

Here's something I've learned in more than 15 years of professionally designing very complex apps: Most people don't read. They don't read pop-ups, warnings, notices and they won't read #TipKit tips.

Instead they try to get rid of the element that's in their way of being able to tap around blindly as fast as possible. They won't read it first.

Relying on explanations of your interface is a crutch. It might help and slightly ease the pain but your interface is still broken if you need them.
