I think my first Bethesda game was Skyrim and I love Skyrim. I’ve played through Skyrim when it first came out I played through it again in the DLC came out. I played through it again on the switch I have since played through it again on PC. I love Skyrim. I played it so many times and I know it’s a meme to keep re-releasing...
Bought a car seat for my toddler. Opened it, manufactured date was 4 years ago! That is, it would EXPIRE in 4mo.
So, I go to return it, and the returns counter guy said they don’t take care seat returns and that it’s not defective! Got absolutely nowhere with him, ended up having to go to a different location and the person there had kids and understood the issue. Ugh.
Era can be defined as a console generation, a decade, one specific year, whatever you want. I’d encourage you to give a list of your favourite games from the generation of choice and why it was the best to you. Nostalgia is a totally viable reason too....
The latter years of the NES, the entirety of the 16-bit console era (SNES/Megadrive [“Genesis”]), the golden age of PC adventure games & the dawn of multimedia (CD-ROM based games & talkies).
Just before the release of Doom, where FPS took over; and the PSX/N64, where (bad) 3D was teh hotness; is where it’s at for me – likely why I love my MiSTer FPGA so much.
It’s excellent. There’s missing art assets (placeholder graphics, especially noticeable with the keepsakes - they’re all just gold rings with a single letter pricetag rn), but the gameplay loop is great, the mechanics all appear to be in place and the audio is incredible (just wait until the zone 2 boss fight).
It absolutely feels like a worthy successor to the original. Mel plays very differently than Zag, but the controls are no less tight. God Mode returns if you dislike “git gud”.
Playing it on my Steamdeck, and thoroughly enjoying it.

The leagues won’t survive if paywalls go up. Watching your team “for free” via OTA broadcast TV is how they got so big in the first place. CBC’s HNIC was huge. More and more, if there are barriers to watching something, many people prior just won’t bother.
You assume, incorrectly, that people will always care about said professional teams/sports.
A lot of the “care” is in the communal activity of watching a game together with one’s mates. Take the convenience of that away, and people will find something else to do.
Highly highly recommend Nobara over Mint if you’re primarily going to be gaming. It’s a fork of Fedora by Glorious Eggshell Eggroll (the guy behind Proton-GE), who himself works for Redhat.
It. just. works.
v40 should be out within a week or two of Fedora 40 dropping on the 23rd.
extruded plastic masquerading as a dairy-like substance
I assume that you’re referring to Kraft singles, or “American” cheese: It’s just cheese, dude; mixed with a chemical (sodium citrate) to help it bind to water. The FDA refuses to allow it to be called cheese, due to the percentages involved (it’s literally mostly water). Regardless, no plastic after you take the wrapper off.
The Montreal-based chemist/YouTuber NileBlue made American cheese recently in a video.
Don’t forget distribution. It costs money to make a nice cartridge. It costs money to stamp a CD and put it in a pretty box. And that cost applies for every. single. copy.
Android has root, you just gotta put in a little bit of work, and give up your Google App goodies like RCS chat and Pay. (you can get them working too, but Google’s getting better at detection/blacklisting spoofed device fingerprints making it a cat and mouse pain)
I found it to be less of a headache to just embrace transcoding. Buy a refrub SFF PC with an 8th gen or better Intel CPU, and enable QuickSync in Jellyfin.
It’s like an epidemic. I’ve tried like 4-5 cafes now and it’s all like drinking battery acid. Do they just not care? Or do you think they believe it’s meant to be like this? If that’s the case I feel bad for them.
I prefer it that way; my wife is like you. Classic espresso with the darker roasted and more bitter profile is not pleasant to me, but my wife will say it’s perfect; and what I like, she can’t stand.
