We were on Mars today, believe it or not

Picture taken at the Plaine des Sables. It’s a volcanic plain in La Réunion, where the landscape looks a lot like Mars. The soil is red, and there are several shades of red coloring the landscape.

The volcano’s summit was fully covered in a thick layer of fog when we arrived, but we stuck around.

After a little while, it finally cleared, and Le Piton de la Fournaise was revealed to be wearing a rainbow crown 🌈
