I am really curious how other libraries/universities/those that build educational websites are handling the increased scraping traffic from bots to train language models.

Our use is WAY up. It hasn't affected our server too much yet (because we overspec'd them to begin with) but if we were paying for bandwidth we'd really be hurting right now.

Feeling pretty glad I didn't move things to "the cloud" as suggested instead of keeping our own servers where we have access to 'unlimited' bandwidth (for now!)

Our library has recently begun advertising librarian jobs requiring an MLS "or other terminal degree"

Does anyone have any data points for what counts as a "terminal degree" in libraries? Does anyone know of actual published policies on this, either for libraries or a university? We have had some confusion about a journalism master's/PhD, for instance. Another example is a Digital Humanities Master's degree which is only offered in England (we are in the US)

We have mostly switched from slack to teams and it's fine I guess except Microsoft has managed to make the ugliest emojis possible and it's throwing off my groove
