@gomichild Our microclimate's too cold for them. They need around 120 days of over 75F in the daytime. Long growing season, and they like the heat. The world might be warming, but not this little pocket of foggy evenings and mornings. Tomatoes survive the cooler temps just fine (I grow tons of them), but the peppers just can't take those foggy summers.

— The last known person to see Sandra Birchmore alive was a police officer.

He stopped by her apartment days before the elementary school teacher’s aide, 23 years old and newly pregnant, was found dead in February 2021. The medical examiner later ruled her death a suicide?

The officer worked for the Stoughton Police Department, near Boston, where he first met Birchmore about a decade earlier through the agency’s Explorer post — part of a youth mentorship program run by local departments across the country.

He acknowledged having sex with her when she was 15, according to a court ruling citing the officer’s text messages. He raped the 15 year old girl. That document indicates that his twin brother — also an officer and Explorer mentor — and a third Stoughton officer, a veteran who ran the program, eventually had sex with her, too.

@skykiss It's infuriating. We ALL KNOW what causes teen pregnancies. We ALL KNOW they're terrible for girls and young women. And STILL, we put men in charge of stuff that absolutely SCREAMS "Red Flag." Hopefully the current generation of men will go a long way to alleviating that.

Guys. My mom was awake for her hip replacement. AWAKE. They gave an epidural and nerve block to the hip and leg, with some light sedation. She was like oh yeah I heard them hammering 😂 She woke up pain free and happy she had it done. PT tomorrow to see if she can escape the hospital by evening. Thanks for the well wishes and good juju!
