I use Antennapod on Android, it syncs with Gpodder (which requires self hosting on Nextcloud) and then there’s plenty of compatible clients over on desktop

Timer counts down time and can be paused; an alarm goes off at particular time and can only be snoozed after it goes off. Alarms take into account timezones and time changes, timers are absolute and independent of “clock” time

Yes it is, it’s been developed by the GSM Association, but Google does have de facto monopoly in the market right now by their Jio Jibe virtual carrier. RCS can be freely implemented by carriers and device manufacturers independently of that, but so far only Samsung, T-Mobile USA and Verizon did so — everyone else uses Google’s Messages. Importantly, different RCS implementations can talk to each other, just like email servers, or Lemmy instances.

Apple has been encouraged to enable RCS compatibility in iMessage in a loud campaign by Google, but they are obviously not very eager to do that, as their own research shows the closedness of Apple ecosystem and messaging system is a main driving factor of sales. This has been revealed in the Apple vs Epic Games case hearings

I recommend Material Files from f-droid, it seems more barebones, but is superior in terms of functionality, especially for power-users and rooted devices (also available in the Play Store)

weird, it’s common where I live (Poland, Europe)

Then why did you recommend FreeTube in the first place? I’m fully aware of LibreTube, Newpipe and Grayjay, but I choose to use Revanced due to factors mentioned in other comment. Using an alternative clients such as those listed above does not solve the global issue of Google making fucking stupid decisions, even if you yourself are not touched by them because you happen to use Newpipe
