What this means is:

  1. A tagged release will appear on GitHub, at some point.
  2. An admin install guide will be available.
  3. A few final changes will be pushed to https://ourchive.io

In coming weeks we will be opening up the Discord and contacting focus group signups as well. As always, a huge thank you to our beta testers, without whom this project would be moldering in a private GitHub repo.

of note: we have a ton of improvements to make to posting flows, after which we should be able to add our remaining 50-ish beta testers; we are still on track for MVP by end of September.

A small update for our Mastodon gang:

  • Stabilizing pre-MVP based on feedback from initial beta testers is in progress
  • More beta testers will be onboarded in the next 2 weeks

We have major updates to make to work & bookmark + collection views; those will be completed over the weekend, at which point we should be ready to onboard more people! We're still on track for an MVP release at the end of September, so if you're interested in hosting a site, that would be when our documentation and install guide is complete.

Hello all! ourchive.io is moving to a different provider because your friendly not-a-sysadmin imp did something terrible to digitalocean's VPS networking and the old VPS Is currently inaccessible. my father, the inventor of toaster strudel (linode), has never done this to me in 10 years of hosting, so we expect to be back up & running with some fresh bugfixes in a couple hours.

who doesn't love a closed beta. not me.
