Pretty sure most of you already know this but for those who don’t: you have two clipboards in Linux. One is the traditional clipboard where you copy with control c and paste with control v. The other one is when you highlight text and use the mouse middle click to paste text....
How do middle-click-to-paste and middle-click-to-scroll conflict? In Firefox I can click-to-paste if the cursor is over an input field and click-to-scroll anywhere else. Never had any problem with this behavior.
Hey gang! Looking for some recommendations on issue tracking software that I can run on Linux. Partly so that I can keep track of my hobby dev projects, partly so that I’ve got a bit more to talk about in interviews. My current workplace uses Jira, Trello and Asana for various different projects, which, eh, mostly serve their...
so my old GPU died a few days ago and I was thinking which brand of GPU to get next. AMD or Nvidia? I’ve heard Nvidia drivers are very annoying with Linux but I’ve never had an AMD GPU before. Which would be better? I’ll sometimee switch to Windows to play specific games as well.
Why wait a few years and not avoid it completely? I doubt there’s any reliable data that confirms a significant loss in sales if they launched without Denuvo and its ilk. DRM is at best useless and at worst “harms” customers.
I was not thinking about the business side but rather about what the customer gets out of it. What bothers me about DRM systems is that they cause problems that you don’t have with pirated game, which is the opposite of how it should be. I don’t want to struggle to get a game running, when the pirated version does not caus those problems. That being said, I haven’t bought any large AAA title in years and my experience is from 7+ years ago. Maybe things have changed but I kinda doubt it.
Anybody know how to play pirated Windows games on Linux? I recently installed Lubuntu (22.04.2 Jammy Jellyfish) on my ancient laptop and all the guides I can find and trying out Lutris only seem to apply to “legit” copies bought from the official sources....
You should technically be able to run the exe with proton (assuming, you’re talking about Windows games). Maybe Steam does some extra work like setting certain environment variables (see github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton#runtime-config-op… for a list).
I have a plan to get into some programming in future and C is one of the considerations and it’s very important language so I would like to ask if anyone programmer is in this community to suggest me some resources? I prefer video based courses but it sounds like books are very detailed sources of information then suggest what...
I’ve never worked on a larger C project, so I’m not the best judge, but I would recommend 21st Century C by Ben Klemens. It was very accessible and gave me a pretty good understanding of how the language worked and how to use modern versions of it.
For me personally, I only keep things I find worth rewatching, so about 50% I delete after. Same with e-books. Games I don’t really pirate (or only pirate them to see if I can run them on my computer). Usually I buy them on Steam and that’s good enough, even though sometimes you lose access to them. I tend to not go back to older games.
I’ve subscribed to a plethora of communities that really interest me and actually have posts and discussions in them, but I have to go to the specific community to see this. looks like rendering adblockers extensions obsolete with manifest-v3 was not enough so now they try to implement DRM into the browser giving the ability to any website to refuse traffic to you if you don’t run a complaint browser ( cough…firefox )...
You’re not wrong but i don’t think this has anything to do with being free. If companies want to track you, they will (except for those whosr business model is privacy maybe). Regardless of how much you pay them.
Linux noob here. Usually in Windows if I have a 1TB SSD, I make a 250GB partition for Windows and all of its things and I use the rest for a second partition where I install my stuff and store my files....
Love the composition and lighting in this picture! The lit leaf with the surrounding foliage in the shade really works. Did you do any post-processing?
