pkntl,

It'll be interesting to see how similar communities from different instances will work out. I've noticed a lot of Technology instances from beehaw.org, lemmy.ml, lemmy.ca, and others.

How will the fediverse as a whole determine which Technology instance is the "main" one? I assume it'll be whichever one has the largest subscriber count accumulated over time.

pkntl,

I've found Windfinder to be really good for me. It's not as flashy as the others out there, but it's been really accurate and detailed which I value more than other features.

pkntl,

Search is also something I was thinking about the other day. It's fine that Lemmy replaces, in part, some of the core functions of Reddit. But each Lemmy instance has it's own url. People won't be able to add site:lemmy.ml or site:beehaw.org to their search since they don't know the full list of instances and which one would have the content that they're searching for.

Time will tell how this issue will be resolved if at all.

pkntl,

I noticed this too. Would also like to know what's up with that.

pkntl,

More added to the list of tools I want to buy :)

pkntl,

I don't want to start a new series anymore until I know it has concluded properly. I've been burned a few too many times to get invested into a show and then have the rug pulled out from under me.

Too bad about Perry Mason, it was on my radar of shows to watch.

pkntl,

I noticed that too yesterday. The sun's reflection on the ground was distinctly orange. Scary stuff.

pkntl,

Some that come to mind:

  • show hide attached images
  • adjust attached image size (RES allows a drag to expand/retract)
  • keyboard shortcuts to navigate posts/comments
  • keyboard shortcuts to upvote
  • hasn't come up yet, but show/hide videos within the post feed

I'm really just using RES as a reference but it was a great extension.

pkntl,

That's a very good point. I have to keep in mind that this project is open source and that extensions shouldn't even be necessary. That is, of course, if the maintainers of the codebase accept the pull requests.
