Another brilliant track from Nada Surf. This bit from the album bio by Maggie Smith is gold:
Four years ago, during lockdown, I was listening to Nada Surf one morning. My son, then seven years old, was quiet, and then he said, “They sing a lot about love.”
What he said next has stuck with me: “It protects you.”
@Luke@scottboms Nothing blooming here yet, but the snow is finally gone. Tulips and crocuses are starting to poke up … sprayed with organic deterrent to keep the deer from chomping on them.
@splorp@scottboms YAY! the ice wall moveth northward?
What are you using? Our cherry trees and bulbs were picked over multiple times by deer and whatever else lurks here.
Learned something totally new about a piece of software I’ve used for multiple decades last night and now wondering if that “feature” was always there and I just somehow never knew.
Fonts in packaged InDesign files override system ones in how they’re loaded as long as they’re in a “Document fonts” folder alongside the InDesign file itself. Huh. 🤔
@Luke Yeah I think so. I discovered after trying many things to override or fix what I thought was a corrupted cache. Instead it just turned out to be moving those fonts to go back to use the system ones.
One small piece from some productive time in the studio today. Also printed the first color of an edition of 3-color screen prints and another set of Riso prints.
“I have a theory that chasing things that scale makes you need therapy, and the therapy is pursuing things that can’t scale.“ Yup. And I feel this so deep in my bones.
