I know the icon at the bottom, which you can use to search for communities, but the icon is a bit difficult to realize. Also I can’t still find how to search for contents on Lemmy.
So, this isn't exactly a "button" like you were hoping for but maybe try this site and bookmark it if you like it and find it meets those needs for now...
