This comic deals with marriage ceremonies, and it just made me realise that I do not understand the appeal at all.

Usual emptor: I can rationalise it; I mean that I do not connect with that appeal on an emotional level, thank you, you do not need to explain it to me, thank you. thank you.

Anyway, it just feels like a huge waste of money and a source of stress for everyone involved. Having a secluded outing somewhere all just to share between you and your partner seems much more appealing to me

Like, idunno. You've been to a wedding before. You've seen the dresses, the chapels, the attire, the food, the bored guests. You've seen it.

Why not go somewhere and do something that's intimately connected to you, your personalities, what's important to your lives and connects you?

@Craigp To me it feels very... bougie, idk. Just excessive indulgence and display of wealth. I guess that in itself is appealing to a lot of folks though. Getting to be "the star" in your very own "production".

Do you run multiple services that need account info?
Do you know that the only way to share that info today is STILL ldap?
Do you hate ldap, like you should?
Do you only use ldap for accounts and nothing else?
