There is no word of any kind of cross-play, which most probably means nothing has been announced yet. If buying on launch, I’ll go with the assumption that there is no cross play.

It’s on my wish list, but more of a ‘maybe’ game, since I am not much of a rogue like fan. Hades is going to be my final test, if I end up not liking Hades, I’ll just start ignoring all rogue-likes. Though, I have started two pretty long games, so it’s going to be a little while before I even get around to Hades…

How much have you played the game? Finished it? If not, would love to hear your feedback once you have played more of it.

Yeah, I am New Age Retro JRPG is a good way to define it. And I am loving that old school feeling.

I understand your feeling about Tower of Doom, this is how I am with rogue likes too, but it’s interesting to see your journey of Sparks of Hope, as it seemed in the start that you didn’t like this game at all.

How many more characters are left after Azrael? And what’s left after challenges?

Man, Antichamber is such a confusing game. I don’t remember if mentioned it last time, but I looked it after you mentioned it last time and found that I have game on steam from some old humble bundle. I have played a bit of it, and I am not sure what’s happening. I ran around for a while, then died, then was in start again, then ran around some more. I think I progressed a bit, but I am not even sure what I am doing or how. 😀 Haven’t even touched it after playing it that one day, you just reminded me of it again.

I have yet to play Streets of Rage 4, but I played Shredder’s Revenge and loved it. Played it solo and in co-op with my kid.

I still haven’t finished the Phoenix Wright trilogy, finished the first game and then took a break, need to get back to it… maybe after Octopath Traveler.

Having heard some indies at GDC talking about skipping Xbox and PlayStation because there just isn’t much of an audience for indies on those platforms if you can’t get included in their subscription services, we ask Lowrie about how healthy the console ecosystems are for indies these days.

He echoes the indies we heard from in acknowledging that Switch stands apart from Xbox and PlayStation on this front.

“They’ve created an ecosystem – and therefore a user base – that is really open to interesting concepts and gameplay ideas,” Lowrie says of Nintendo. "The PlayStation and Xbox user, for as long as I’ve been doing this… there’s a lot of people that still like indie games, don’t get me wrong. Cult of the Lamb has done very well on those platforms. But I think the large majority of those people buy those platforms to show off what they can really do. They’re looking at Destiny. They’re looking at Helldivers. They’re looking at Starfield. They definitely push those.

“I think the platforms themselves all are really strong believers in indie games. They really do push them. I think on the other end, the consumers – as big as they might be – there’s still a smaller portion than we would like on Xbox and PlayStation that are open to looking at a pixel art platformer and going, ‘I’ll give this a shot.’”

Actually, charging people for emulation isn’t illegal. The main problem, that I can figure out, is that they specifically marketed / advertised that upcoming Switch games (TotK) runs better on Yuzu than Switch. Main issue is that they did it before TotK was released.

Disclaimer: Not a legal expert, just what I could figure out from reading different stuff / articles.

Nintendo just released their earning reports, and Switch only sold 1.96Million in last months (Jan - March), so maybe they announced it to let the shareholders know that next one is coming soon.

It’s possible. Covid changed many company’s plans.
