@Dentarth I'm using already available hardware components (that's why this project is possible), RGB screens with 0,42" are unfortunately not on the market. Technically possible for sure, but I do not have the budget to fund the development.
What use case would require RGB?
Great to see some people interested in the language aspect!!

@Dentarth Yeah sorry, not possible with monochrome displays. The skin color tone could be configured, but surely not visible on the keyboard...

Trying some Tecsee Medium tactile switches. The only MX compatible low profile variant with LED slit!

@gsuberland I use the LED slit (south facing) for the flex cable of the displays. The actual RGB LEDs are on the PCB and have an extra drill hole in the plate (north facing). You can spot it in the pic when looking closely.

Got a test batch with alternative FPC sockets (identical footprint, but pins are reversed), as the original part has a back order time of 180 working days... works! 😁

Implemented a system to support the additional characters from Latin-1 Supplement and Latin Extended A like on a smart phone (select variant, last choice remembered). All the keys are sent as Unicode so there is no need to change the input language 😁

@vozhyk That's the goal. I have a little python program that talks to the keyboard via the HID protocol. For now, the python program can query supported languages, the currently active language and also set it. However it is very basic at the moment.
