As a professional juggler practised early on to do things with either hand - whether it’s washing dishes or putting a key in the door… just paying attention to how you do things. Now can take juggle 3 balls in either hand
See, it turns out that the Rabbit R1 seems to run Android under the hood and the entire interface users interact with is powered by a single Android app. A tipster shared the Rabbit R1’s launcher APK with us, and with a bit of tinkering, we managed to install it on an Android phone, specifically a Pixel 6a....
As a former Android developer, you can’t just do anything in an android app on a modern smartphone. The system is fighting you for resources the whole time. It makes sense to have something like this running as root on a device that you control.
Please don’t get me wrong, this is not meant to be rude slander. MX Linux is not a bad Distro at all (even tho I’ve always opted for Debian instead) and peops are free to use what suits them best....
I’m my county a high percentage of cars have GPS trackers fitted already - by the owner - because of the high vehicle theft rate.
I imagine if that police here just have to call up the tracking company to achieve the same result - something to think about actually (I don’t have one, my car isn’t worth much)
Then I think the actual answer is there are none. Although PipePipe can access PeerTube? Also BiliBili and NicoNico. BiliBili is possibly larger than YouTube but of course it’s all in Chinese!
Digital. I’ve been reading ebooks for years, starting on my flip phone back in the day. The best part to me is being able to seamlessly switch from reading with my eyes to being read to (tts - I’m used to it now and it’s waaaay better than it was).
I do a lot of driving for work so I can get a ton of reading done on the road 😁
The apipocalypse same as everyone else. I do miss my niche communities, and my 4000+ internet points, but as an open source enthusiast (I use arch btw) I’m very much at home here 😁
So this just happened - those of you who have a Xiaomi phone know when you install apps it has it’s own “Virus Checker” screen which comes up before the app is approved for install. This is provided by Avast I just found out…...
I was worried about that too but they came back yesterday and the whole troupe skirted the bins and squirter. I’m guessing the ones who got wet told the others it’s not worth it. They have plenty of other options in the neighborhood to choose from
Yeah looking at you Roblox 😠. Has anyone hacked that anti cheat nonsense yet? Right now I’m mirroring my android phone on my desktop to be able to see what I’m doing (I’m over 40 but I play with my kids in case you wondering)
Unsplash has a ton of free content and a great api - so I used the hugchat api to generate search queries based on some user input text and fetched images from there....
Seriously though, the Unsplash search is pretty rubbish. Also, I’m only returning the first image from search (I only have 50/h) , could probably improve the search on my side by checking metadata or something. At least the plant has the right number of leaves, right?
Actually now that I think of it - I think I made the last image do a search using only the company name (to avoid same images as others above) so you probably got “Waldo’s Weed” there!
The votes are in, it is bad UI! Thanks to those who commented and made suggestions.
I have no idea why, but somehow my site became the target of bots signing up, with legit looking emails but username was random letters. I already check for emails, so a friend suggested putting a hidden trip field for the bots (this is apparently common?) and I thought it might be fun if I made it visible.
The field totally worked though, the bots gave up. Still annoyed though, who was it? I didn’t post the links to the site in many places yet it’s work in progress, I have like 10 (human) users. I guess I need to add some IP blocking and all sorts of other stuff too in future (eg captcha).
And yes the DDG thing was put there by my browser. It’s a handy feature, gave me multiple free trials on ChatGPT for eg, before they stopped the new sign-ups!

I’ll start - Tananas. It’s basically the soundtrack to my early adulthood. They were the Dave Matthews band of South Africa.

Offline apps for when you have 5 minutes to kill?
At my job, we have neither signal nor wifi in certain places (bathroom in the basement). So would appreciate tips on apps to kill five minutes.
Is this really that bad? (lemmy.world)
