There's something called "chelation therapy" which I believe is a somewhat dangerous way of medically treating heavy metal poisoning. So it's not out of the realm of possibility we COULD remove microplastics SOMEHOW.
Plastic tends to be hydrophobic (I think?) and isn't metal. And we can land a small robot on the moon and then land humans just a few years later it's possible.
I guess with how well the terrorists taught us this lesson, means that we'd be even more better at it. We even learned about something called a 'Boston Tea Party' when we were little!
