I feel like Kbin tends more towards lurking at least when you are unfamiliar with it like me. I wont be posting much probably but it is nice to see some of you in a new community. Maybe we just need to make a Ex-Squabbles community on every social media site.
@moralcoffee I assume you've seen Hereditary, It Follows, and The Babadook? There's the classics that those borrow from with Amityville, Poltergeist. Exorcist. Amityville is just okay but worth a watch. The Others is another great movie that sort of a haunted house. Smile has similar creepy vibes as Sinister although it falls apart at the end. The VVitch, X, Suspiria, Possesion, The grudge, The Ring, The Blackphone, Nope, US, Get Out all feel like they have the same kind of vibes though they are all wildly different movies.

I had the exact same experience and feeling. Kbin Letting me see different Lemmy instance instantly made me feel like transition was easier. Now if only we could see the comments from other instances too and have cross instance commenting it would be perfect.
What kind of horror do you like and what are some of your favorite horror movies? I've always loved eighties horror. I usually watch movies like The Lost Boys/Poltergeist/The Thing etc multiple times a year. If anyone else loves eighties b horror I strongly suggest they watch Night of the Demons. Share your favorites. Let's get the community started off with an easy one!

Oh there was some great stuff coming out then too! That was definitely the era of slashers! Found footage can be so good. I hear you about loving it even though you know it's bad though haha. V/H/S is definitely a found footage guilty pleasure!
Great recent fave! Mad God was so cool! Have you seen skinamarink? It's a new found footage movie mixed with liminal horror. It's a very love or hate it kind of movie.
@MothraCultist yeah I finished it out of spite but it was brutal and not in the fun way! Lots of lingering shots of just the corner of a ceiling were driving me crazy.

@rodhlann I feel you, I love a movie that keeps me thinking. Did you see Nope? That movie had me thinking about it for days with the hidden references to old horror movies and cinema. Plus the whole theme about humanity wanting to concur nature and fooling ourselves into thinking we're in control.
