Did some testing on multiple instances and seems like federation is working much better between KBin and Lemmy now. Some instances still don't seem to be federating properly though....
So after a few days of lurking Kbin and trying to understand the marvelous world of the Fediverse, I've tried keep some mental notes of the struggles I've had and some spontaneous areas of improvement that I personally would like to see....
I also agree with a lot of what you've said.
There are a few things though that already work:
Infinite scroll: when you click on the cog wheel (propably on the top right corner) you can enable infinite scroll. And a few other options, which I love
Formatting: I think this just has markdown support with lists, headers, etc. However I just noticed that all headers are equally large
/sub as main: you can set the default site that is shown to you, to your subscribed posts. This is however not in the cog menu, but in your personal settings
I really want to help improve /kbin. I am a experienced TypeScript / React dev and a hobby PHP programmer. How do I contribute to the project. Of course there is the git repo, but there is no info in the repo (like a contribute.md) like there is in many other repos.
Federation updates seem to be working much better now
