I have a Nvidia TitanX in my HTPC, which is known for its high heat output, and it keeps overheating when I play 3D games. The case has two intake fans on one side and two exhaust fans on the other, but lacks ventilation on the top panel. I’m tired of the random shutdowns during game play and was wondering if anyone had any...
Have you tried underclocking to reduce power usage (and thus heat production)? Seems worth trying before getting an entire new GPU... Performance per watt, I think the 4070 is one of the best cards right now, last I looked. Might be worth seeing what Intel do with battlemage, come Q2 2024.
Hey everyone. I made a casual survey to see if people can tell the difference between human-made and AI generated art. Any responses would be appreciated, I’m curious to see how accurately people can tell the difference (especially those familiar with AI image generation)
10/20 but I'm a little annoyed that what looks exactly like a panel from Berserk is apparently AI generated... Feels like the training data might just be replicated in entirety there, either that or someone asked it to generate "Guts from Berserk" 😛

So I got what I believe is a rebadged m505b and for the money, it's great. However, the motion of the trackball is noticeably not as good as my previous Elecom Huge and it isn't significantly cheaper. I wanted to move to bluetooth though, and the only good bluetooth Elecom trackball is about twice the price and not readily available in the UK (the Elecom Deft Pro).
So definitely a good deal, but if bluetooth functionality doesn't matter to you, I'd go with the Elecom Huge. The buttons on the Nulea are much nicer and it's a more comfortable shape for my hand, but the ball movement on the Elecom more than makes up for those differences, imho. Both are better choices than the Kensington Slimblade and Expert Mouse though.
I've never noticed it being bad on the Huge, so I guess so? I don't particularly like the buttons on the Huge, but I'd say they're unremarkable on the whole. The Huge also has horizontal scrolling via tilting the scroll-wheel, which I miss on the m505b. I can reach all the buttons on the Huge well enough, though I find the right button gives me a bit of hand strain if I have to use it a lot. The m505b (mine is ProtoArc branded, fwiw) buttons are really excellent, it's really, immediately noticeable how nice they are. The activation pressure is much lower, but not so low that you'd do it accidentally and they're really nicely positioned. If I could just take the tracking and scroll-wheel from the Huge, it'd be perfect. Both of these trackballs do just about everything better than the Kensington trackballs, though I do like the Slimblade's twist-to-scroll feature, even if it does strain the wrist a bit.

I wouldn't mind paying for YouTube, but their current subscription price is extortionate given what I'd get out of it vs. much more premium streaming services. It's funny how their 'Lite' subscription trial seems to have disappeared off the face of the Earth - I'd probably go for it at that price.
I recently played an amazing DOS game where you have your country and you can declare war or peace with other ones, and i really enjoyed it. Growing up one of my favorite DOS games was Gobliiins 3, such cool memories!
Duke Nukem 3D, absolutely no question whatsoever. The first game I played that had environments that aped real life and had real life levels of interaction detail... Light switches, CCTV cameras, so much incidental detail and environmental transformation. No other game had done that to the same extent before then and I'd argue that no other game has done it since!
Well, I suppose we should be the change we want to see, so I've created this magazine in the hope that future reddit migrants might see it and be encouraged to take part. My big hope is that enough people come along that I won't be necessary, I don't really have any aspirations to be moderating a bluegrass forum!...
