Hey I installed this and it's working fine, so thank you! But the communities outside of kbin that I'm subscribed to are not showing up at all, even though they're listed under my subscriptions in my profile. Is there a setting I missed somewhere?
Unfortunately I think it's gonna be like this for a while as more and more people come and get exposed to this concept for the first time. Some folks have made very helpful introductory threads to guide newbies into the Fediverse, but at its core it's a very different paradigm to "log on this website to see and interact with this one thing" that people have gotten used to.
I appreciate the work you're putting in! The latest version no longer gets text cut off on the right side. However now the longer comments no longer get that expand option.
I know this is a week old but I hope this is still helpful for you. These productivity focused mice are generally high-quality, and if you get a dud, Logitech is usually good about customer support. Sometimes they even send you a brand new mouse outright (it happened to me before).
Also, I'm not sure in which country you're in, so I'm just going by UK prices even though they no longer use the Euro lol
MX Master 3 - This can be a very comfy mouse to hold if you can find your hand agreeing with it. Has two scroll wheels, one in the normal position and one for the thumb. There's a newer version, the 3S, which has quieter clicks and is more expensive, but is essentially the same as this one.
MX Vertical - This one turns your hand on its side while in operation, which is apparently a more ergonomic resting position for the hands.
I can only say I'm interested in spinning up an instance too. I'm currently on a managed VPS running AlmaLinux, so the instructions aren't exactly plug and play. But how difficult would you say installation was?
For perspective, I'm just a used to interfacing with a normal LAMP stack, but don't really have knowledge further than that.
Using kbin as it was the first instance I signed up for. The Fediverse concept blew my mind when I first heard of it a couple of days ago. I had heard of Mastodon before but since I was barely using Twitter anymore, I didn't feel the need to sign up. So this was my real introduction into the federation concept.
On desktop: Firefox with Tampermonkey and Stylus add-ons. Using this script for Tampermonkey, and this stylesheet for Stylus.
On mobile: Firefox with Tampermonkey (Stylus isn't available on mobile yet). Using the script on I use on desktop, but also this one.
Currently using on mobile, the larger touch area for collapsing/uncollapsing works great in practice. I also see the modified scaling, and for the most part it's well done!
Although I can still force it to cut off some text if I find a discussion that goes deep enough. Not a huge issue though.
EDIT: I noticed that as a consequence of making the collapse activate on one click, highlighting portions of the comment (for example if you want to quote it) is now difficult. On desktop, you have to hold the mouse click then press Ctrl + C, otherwise if you let go of the click and collapse the comment, nothing is captured to the clipboard.
On Android though, since a tap and hold action on a word makes the context menu pop up, this doesn't happen, you can select the phrase you want to copy without the comment collapsing.
I'll probably keep using this on mobile, and use the other script for desktop.
Haha, sometimes I do that, but when I'm cooking for myself, often no. I think most other households do though, since we (Pinoys in general) often serve rice on a separate plate and not straight from the pot, so that takes care of the fluffing part.
