I just watched the Legally Blonde musical (on YouTube) and it was really fun! I can't really say whether I liked it or the movie more. It does some things better and some worse. I'd probably like it more had I not seen the movie.
@dopey_kun I've seen three different productions of the musical, but have never seen anyone make Elle Woods as interesting and appealing as Reese Witherspoon did, which is a large part of why I ultimately prefer the movie.
So people have been fancasting Maitreyi Ramakrishnan lately for a potential future live-action Tangled, and to be fair to her I've never seen her work.
But after seeing Shubshri Kandiah on stage as Jasmine, Cinderella and Belle, she's my pick.
Aside from her incredible vocal and acting skill, she has the most perfect "wide-eyed disney princess" expression. It's uncanny.
@BlondieBuff Agree - Shubshri Kandiah is tailor-made to be a Disney princess. I also thought it was hysterical that she went from Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella where she played Cinderella, to Into the Woods where she played... Cinderella!
