Things 3 felt pretty expensive when I bought it (you have to pay separately for the iPhone,Mac and iPad apps - no subscription though). Haven’t had any regrets about it since, I hope to be using it for many more years. The app is simple, but has everything I need it to do. I’ve tried so many task management apps and sites but Things works best for me.
The Evergoods MHP 3.5L has quickly become my go-to everyday bag. I choose it because I like my pockets empty, prefer hip packs and wanted it to fit a water bottle and something extra to wear. I haven’t had the bag for very long, but so far it does not disappoint. Well made and I like most of the design choices they made. It’s very comfortable to carry, for me.
One thing I hope the devs will consider for a future version is transclusion. I like making summary notes for subject I have a lot of notes on. Transclusions would make that easier and better. I don’t think it needs to take away from the simplicity feel of the app, either.
I’d probably call a notary office just to ask if buying a plot of land with cash would be possible within the hour. I’d expect a no, but worth a shot.
If no, I’d quickly go buy an electric bike and use the rest of the hour to go to a few charities I can get the cash to. That still counts as spending, right? Otherwise I guess I’ll buy something small from them for a ridiculous amount?
You can spend the hour in agony trying to come up with the best way to get as much as possible for yourself, and probably not succeeding, but giving to a charity you care about is going to feel good no matter what.
It’s been a while since I really used reminders, but I believe it doesn’t make those callback links I can get for Things tasks and Bear notes. I link back and forth between them all the time, so that’s something I would miss.
Overall Things feels like it’s set up precisely for my gtd-ish workflow, whereas reminders felt like I had to work for it to function like that. I can’t put my finger exactly on what it is.
You can. I’m on mobile and for me there’s a menu ‘all magazines’ when I scroll all the way down. There you can search for magazines/communities and subscribe. Some non-kbin options will show a warning about it not being completely synced yet, but that should get better in time.
I've just rediscovered my childhood Gameboys, I grew up in the 90s and had an original, a color, an advance and an sp. My game collection has whittled down over the year to the usual suspects, Pokemons, Zelda's, Mario's and some other standards. But I want to dive into some games that 7 year old me would have brushed over. So...
Thanks! I'm going to test if turning it will reliably disable it from turning on. That would be a wonderful solution, as it takes no extra room and it's quick to get the flashlight working again.
I’ve only had the pack a short while, but since it’s still quiet here I thought I’d share my first impressions. I think hip packs are a great way to keep your pockets empty and back unburdened....
I haven’t looked into how to post pictures on kbin without burdening the server. I’ll figure it out! What about the MHP would you like to see? I don’t own a CAS so I can’t speak to the differences, but I feel like the buckle in the middle of the straps would annoy me when sitting down.
So I think I figured it out. Imgur wouldn't let me register for some reason.
This is what I have in the small pocket: IMG-2391.jpg
FFP2 mask
Radix One card wallet
Phone (left of the wallet in, but I took the pic with my phone)
Maxpedition Pocket Organizer Micro pouch. It holds a hair tie, bullet space pen, paper, Olight S1R baton flashlight, rescue blanket, ear plugs, Leatherman Juice S2 multitool, mini usb stick, a strip of pain meds, some band-aids and some cash.
30ml deodorant spray bottle
keys on the key leash (just a few flat keys, no big car key)
It's easy to get to when not wearing the pack as you can see. When worn, it's a snug fit and a bit tight for the pouch. If you put less in this pocket, the main pocket has a bit more room.
Pictured here is how little fits in the main pocket when I add a 27 oz / 800ml waterbottle (Klean Kanteen reflect). IMG-2392.jpg
alternatively, it could fit a sweater and single use poncho (got it ages ago, won't replace it with single use): IMG-2395.jpg
or a protein bar, 330ml / 11.6 oz drink, and rain jacket in the compression thing: IMG-2396.jpg
The rain jacket was a bit of a pain to pull through, but this was just a cheap basic rain jacket. I'm sure some modern UL jacket would fit easier.
This is what it looks like with the jacket hanging out. IMG-2398.jpg
I’m a bit late, but I’m using Bear (which has been updated to 2.0 now) for texts, and Allusion for images. I set up allusion to watch the folder that my screenshots are saved to, and I do a weekly review where I tag them and remove the ones I don’t need in Allusion. Works well so far.
