I can't ever go back to combustion after vaping - the taste with vaping is just phenomenal. I love starting with a terpene hit.

I don't feel like I've lost anything - maybe it's because I use a Dynavap so it's vaguely joint shaped, still has a burning hot end you have to be careful with, and it requires some amount of skill if you're using a torch. So I have the ritual of getting out my weed container. Packing the bowl. Then lighting the flame and turning turning till the clicks.... Still feels very satisfying to me. And I still use it with a bong.

That and how much higher I can get from vaping with less bud too.

EDIT: Oh and let's not forget AVB!

I find this article about them from a decade ago: https://abcnews.go.com/Lifestyle/gold-rolling-papers-attract-smokers-money-burn/story?id=20389167

Even the manufacturers don't entirely know if there's negative effect of inhaling gold - they only cite one study in that article from 2011 and it seems there's otherwise next to no safety research done on it (not really surprising given I'm not sure there's a long history of people smoking gold). According to the company the gold stays on the ash 🤷🏻‍♀️

I organise something like you. I don't think it's overdoing it. My spouse has next to no organisation and spends way more time than I do trying to find stuff in his inventory. Once I have things organised, it's such a small effort to keep it that way and way less time overall than searching through inventory for something constantly because stuff is all over the place.

I second a Dynavap if you like durability, no batteries to worry about, modular and easy to replace parts. Bonus (or essential for poor people like me) they have cheap options (B, BB3 and M models).

They do have a learning curve which some people find easy and some difficult with varying experiences in between. I have an easy beginner friendly method if you or anyone else wants info on it.

If you don't like the idea of using a torch to heat the Dyna, you can use induction heaters instead, including portable ones like the Ispire wand.

I looked to find a decent 101 on dry herb vapes but alas the enshittification of the internet continued and I couldn't find any sites that aren't also trying to sell something.

So in addition to wht others have explained, here's a bit of extra info from the best two pages I could find:

https://www.planetofthevapes.com/blogs/blog/how-to-vape-dry-herbs-for-beginners

https://thevape.guide/how-do-dry-herb-vaporizers-work/

Dry herb vaping also advantage of working with plain flower so you know what you're vaping as opposed to refined vaping products like juices, waxes, oils, etc. which can have additives that aren't so good for you.

Gone but not forgotten. RIP. I woke one morning recently to a completely shattered into tiny bits bong. It was in a cupboard, all the way at the back. No one (aka kids) would take responsibility. Must have been the magic fae elf fairy leprechaun sprite that did it 🙄

Dunno if it would count as depersonalisation or derealisation but I've had out of body experiences a couple of times when I've had too much. But I've also tripped when super high (too high).

I have a weird metabolism so my highs are really variable no matter how careful I am with amounts and method. Meaning I regularly end up orbiting the moon by accident. Have had some interesting trips.

I don't ever recommend being super sick, taking melatonin and weed. My dreams were really fucking weird and I slept like shit to boot lol.

I think I've become more practised at dealing with having to much as a result and my biggest takeaway is to surrender to the experience, remind yourself that it will wear off, and mindfully embrace the experience and how you're feeling, be really in the moment.

Yep some of my friends left France in part for that reason - the government and police are becoming increasingly authoritarian and they left not wanting to wait for things to get worse. And they're just super nice, normal people but they could see the wiring on the wall. 😞
