Zipperline, to jellyfin

I'm trying to get Jellyfin to be able to be accessed from a domain I own. I know I could simply do a URL forward to my servers IP and port, but this is sketchy as hell.

Is there a guide out there I can follow to get this set up correctly?

Zipperline, to jellyfin

I'm having trouble connecting with the Android and iOS app. I use my IP and port to the server as well as the web address I have, but none allow me to connect. I'm able to access the server remotely from any web browser but the app isn't connecting.

I have reset the server and PC it's running on, everything is up to date. Running directly on the PC, not Docker.

Any ideas of what's going on? Willing to try anything to get it working.

Zipperline,

@tiwenty just HTTP, couldn't figure out how to do HTTPS yet. Trying to learn all this

Zipperline,

@tiwenty browser I use www.example.tk or my IP 1.1.1.1:8096, with the actual addresses of course. Both of those allow me to connect via browser

Zipperline,

@tiwenty Yes, I've added the http, and I have tried the official app on both iOS and Android

Zipperline,

@anthonylavado just checked. It is allowed through on both public and private
