goinroguein10,

Do you have a source for this claim? I'm very interested in reading about it

goinroguein10,

Ridiculous enough to warrant engagement though, isn't it?

remember you can request all your data from reddit (www.reddit.com)

Not only is this a way for you to keep your stuff, inform you what reddit knew about you and in general good to do with services you use every now and then - it also tends to be quite expensive operation for tech companies that aren't quite operationally mature yet....

goinroguein10,

do we have any grounds to request our data if we are not citzens of California or the EU?

goinroguein10,

Does this have any serious implications for the average VPN user? Like would any torrenting reveal your IP without port forwarding?

goinroguein10,

If one were to host their own instance, would it come with the features of an instance like kbin or lemmy, or would you have to fork their code? Also could you reliably privatize an instance for single use?

goinroguein10,

My only reccommendation for a replacement for google drive would be to encrypt the files you save their using Veracrypt. No external server is safe to store data on.
