For me its when someone tells me to bring them something. If i try to find something that i need, i will find it really quickly. If someone is asking me to find something for them in a room, it is like i become blind and even if its in front of me, it is really hard to find it.
For me it's choosing what I want to focus on. Obvious things like needing to prioritize important but understimulating tasks sure, but more frustrating is just trying to have a convo with someone while something like the TV is on in the other room or a car alarm is going off in the parking lot.
I introduced kbin to someone today who asked what the fediverse was. I answered for them of course, but it made me realize that the concept is still technobabble for most people. The average joe probably doesn't care or notice that server A is really talking to server B. Just have them find out on their own and if a mass...
I'm unreasonably sad about saying goodbye to Reddit, even if I know it's the right thing to do. I've joined up here (new and different, help), with you lovely humans, and Mastodon (cool, but I'm not into Twitter's format so much).
Should I keep the RIF app? Should I delete my Reddit account? I'm really, really going to miss the hundreds of weird, niche subreddits I had accumulated. I'll miss those communities, large and small.
Do you think things will get better or should I just bite the final bullet? I think I know the answer, but I need a bit of a push.
@HotDogFingies I agree with you about being unreasonably sad.. For better or for worse, I used reddit daily for a little over 6 years. And it's naive for me to say I'll never use it in any capacity again. Unfortunately there is just so much useful info to be found there, and I have some serious doubts that the protests will lead to anything substantial.
But, I think it's really exciting to see all of these alternatives popping up! Theres so much to learn, and breaking my own status quo has been really fun so far, even if it feels frustrating sometimes. Plus, I've been tired of feeling like a mindless slave to the corporitized social media. The fediverse not only feels like a breath of fresh air, but it also has potential to be the future of social media by putting the power in the people's hands.
I've personally never been a part of something this new, and I'm willing to put in the work to help them work through their growing pains. I think you should too!
What is the most annoying ADHD trait that you have?

When introducing members to kbin/lemmy don't mention the fediverse!
