I just wanted to thank you for your work on this app. iOS needs an app to access Lemmy. This is a great time for the app due to Apollo shutting down. I believe that your work on this app will greatly increase the number of people who join the fediverse.
If the reddit exodus happens and Lemmy gets even 2% of reddit's daily active users, how will Lemmy sustain the increased traffic? I know donations are an option, but I don't think long term donations will be sustainable. Most users will never donate....
Servers are not free. You can run instance on a VPS for 20$ when you have 200 users.
What will you do when it will grow to 200 thousand users? You have to make money somehow to finance that, be it ads, paid subscriptions or donations or whatever else.
