@dansup @pixelfed Did you want to follow the same horrible steps that Mastodon took with this app?

You talk about decentralization but this app design promote users to use pixelfed.social. Now you can't even create an account from Pixelfed App on android to another server.

That's bad and you should think about it.

Perhaps you can help design a rough mockup for the flow you'd like to see? I will create a GH issue for this after work.

Screen 1: When user select Login
Screen 2: When user select Create account

• In screen 2 in the question mark you can add a modal with information about how instances in the fediverse work.

Design concept of Pixelfed App to create account with the title "Choose your community" followed by a question mark. Below a list of Instances with description grouped by categories: All, Regional, Art. Some of them have filters like need approval or language for Regional.
