ai6yr,

From Andrew Pletcher: ICYMI: @CityofTO will host a bike lane demonstration where a portion of Hillcrest Drive (between Wilbur Road and Lynn Road) will be made into a temporary bike lane. The bike demonstration will be from May 13, 2024, through May 31, 2024.

@ai6yr I interpret this as a challenge. I’ll create a Strava segment as soon as this demonstration opens.

ai6yr,

@jlamoree Awesome!

ai6yr,

I sat in on the meeting of the Thousand Oaks City group providing input on Transportation issues, and it looks like the traffic engineers here are looking to gather feedback on this. They will be counting cars and bicycles; I plan on taking my own bicycle and traveling this a few times myself, though I have my doubts on how much feedback they will get (given it is only 2 weeks)--my prediction is it will mostly be negative vehicle-centric comment, but maybe they will prove me wrong. The traffic engineer in charge did not (to me) seem enthused about comments about more substantial barrier design here (so they can "maintain the roadbed for future use")

@ai6yr A bike lane protected only by cones or road markings is about as helpful as an imaginary friend.
