Ackshually his bones are coated in adamantiun. As we learned after the famous issue where Magneto rips the adamantiun from Logan’s body and we get the first appearance of his bone claws.

AlfredoBonannoFofana,

Ackshully Calcium is also a metal so the post is technically correct (the best kind of correct)

mateomaui,

I guess except for the movies where magneto wasn’t there?

RIP_Cheems,
@RIP_Cheems@lemmy.world avatar

Honestly seems like a nerf considering human bones are stronger than steel.

Alexstarfire,

His “bones” are adamantium, not steel.

RIP_Cheems,
@RIP_Cheems@lemmy.world avatar

Ok, how strong is adamantium?

TheGiantKorean,
@TheGiantKorean@lemmy.world avatar

Nearly indestructible, according to the comics.

Anticorp,

Stronger than bones.

Ragnell,
Ragnell avatar

I've heard it's stronger than vibranium, but not as strong as Superman.

Daisyifyoudo,

Two fictitious metals from one comic producing company vs a hero from a opposing comic producing company would be hard to compare/ substantiate

TheGiantKorean,
@TheGiantKorean@lemmy.world avatar

There is a crossover where Superman is unable to break Doctor Octopus’ tentacles.

Noodle07,

Superman is the man of steel, and adamantium is stronger than steel. Checkmate Clark

Ragnell,
Ragnell avatar

Yeah, but Wolverine still needs to breathe so Clark can take him out like the Hulk.

halvar,

much strong, at least the comic says so (mucher strong than diamond (very much strong))

RIP_Cheems,
@RIP_Cheems@lemmy.world avatar

Well then it is a nerf as a diamond can be shattered with a hammer

Jerkface,

… but it’s stronger.

RIP_Cheems,
@RIP_Cheems@lemmy.world avatar

Your using a diamond for comparison. Your telling me I can take a steel bat and break wolverines legs easily.

superduperenigma,

You seem to think that comparing two things means they are exactly the same. That’s not how comparing one thing to another works. Saying adamantium is stronger than diamond does not mean adamantium is as easy to break as diamond.

EdibleFriend,
@EdibleFriend@lemmy.world avatar

It’s a fictional metal that’s basically indestructible.

Daisyifyoudo,

The guy you are replying to did not say that. And supposedly, in the marvel universe, adamantium is the strongest metal earth, nearly indestructible

TheBat,
@TheBat@lemmy.world avatar

It’s an alloy btw

ArcaneSlime,

Bone can also be shattered with a hammer though?

supamanc,

Also, bones are supposed to be the sacrificial weak point, to protect the high value organs from shock damage. Having indestructible bones would lead to fucked up internal organs and brain damage.

jordanlund,

Boneitis, horrible condition.

The_Picard_Maneuver,
@The_Picard_Maneuver@startrek.website avatar

I heard a company came close to finding a cure, but then they were bought out and gutted by some 80s guy.

comrade_pibb,
@comrade_pibb@hexbear.net avatar

my only regret

Tehgingey,

“I was so busy being an 80’s guy, I forgot to cure my boneitis!”

KeyserSoze61,

My only regret is that I have boneitus!

Sharpiemarker,

We don’t know much about him except that he’s a shark.

veroxii,

Don’t you worry about blank. Let me worry about blank.

The_Picard_Maneuver,
@The_Picard_Maneuver@startrek.website avatar

Blank? BLANK? You’re not seeing the big picture!

Lmaydev,

That’s a funny name for a horrible condition.
