I honestly have to disagree with this. I have been on Bluesky for a little while now and haven’t really found it to be as fun, engaging, or active as I have here. It is a whole different experience and world over there. I try to post over there and it’s crickets 🦗. @kylewritescode It (in general) serves a different audience to Mastodon; which is fine. As I’ve said elsewhere, we all don’t have to fish in the same pond.
I do feel a little lost on Bluesky; like I’m once again the dork that somehow made his way into the cool crowd but is completely out of his depth 😆

@jens Oh I totally agree with you! Anytime you create a new account on a social network having to build that following takes time, especially if there is no API that allows for finding followers from another account.
@kylewritescode that’s fair. I started using the very broken what’s hot page and found people and then started just engaging and jumping in. Hashtags aren’t there but there is site-wide search and it’s not great but it’s a least a thing.
@film_girl I agree it is a very early social network that is going to evolve over time, not going to argue that. And, I am totally for the new thing! I guess, like you said, just trying to find that way to get around using that early system and just getting in there.
@kylewritescode totally. And I’m very cognizant of the fact that this probably won’t last. Most social networks fail. I’m personally having fun now but I also know that that could change.
I'm reluctant to try another site. It takes time to generate a following and I can't be doing that over and over again simply because a new platform shows up trying to be the new twitter.
